Who let the stiff in? At first glance, you would think that this Georgetown University Law Center alum may have gotten off at the wrong floor for work and just never left – but he’s always been one of us. Once you get past all his legalese you find out that Jay’s the business end of our trio. But don’t let that fool you; he’s been known to let his freak flag fly, which is why he’s WPA through and through.
Jay crunches numbers and has helped catapult WPA into a quiet powerhouse with all the panache of a production speakeasy. It’s what he does. Prior to WPA, Jay was president and CEO of a family-owned supermarket chain of 20 stores for over 23 years. In that time, he grew the company’s sales from a mere $60 million to $425 million – and then it was on to his next challenge. Fresh off the supermarket sale, in 2005 Jay turned his attention to AV installations and formed Wavelengths Pro Audio (and now the WPA connection is starting to make sense.) Serving colleges and universities, restaurants and bars, high schools, athletic fields and gymnasiums, museums and similar spaces, Jay established a thriving client base in need of audio and visual technology. In 2013, Jay partnered with Matt and Pete to establish corporate event planning and AV production. When he’s not staring at spreadsheets and projections, Jay has been known to swing a mean croquet mallet (if there is such a thing as a mean croquet mallet) and pilfering Matt and Pete’s expertise to amplify his own guitar stylings for his classic rock band, Neurotic Gumbo (and the freak flag flies.).
